Carole Edwards family

In loving memory of Terry Oakes, our Brother from another Mother for the past 41 years. In all that time I have some of the happiest memories of a man who cared and loved his Wife and their large family above all else. He had a great sense of humour and was very generous with his time, his money and his kind heart. I have witnessed the great love between Terry and Maureen through the years , they had a lot of fun on the way and I was lucky enough to share some of that. He loved to dance and everyone who knew him liked him, he was easy to speak to especially if talking sport and his favourite football team (Blues if you didnt know lol). He was great with kids all of his life. and he was often called Father Christmas or The Milky Bar Kids Grandad. Terry never took himself too seriously and was always ready to make you laugh. I will be forever grateful that Maureen met Terry and that they loved and cared for each other so well, and he treated me as a little Sister. We often holidayed and socialised together, and made lovely memories. When i worked for various charities he would help me get around and we spent the journeys putting the word to right or just being silly. I was also privileged to see the great love between Maureen and Terry, especially when Terry was struck down with this terrible disease Parkinsons. Maureen spent day and night nursing Terry, which was a lonely and selfless task most of the time. Even through all this Terrys only concern was for Maureen welfare, I'm proud that my Sister was loved by such a wonderful man. RIP Terry xxxx
